# Moderation & editing

## Moderation

Every new campaign goes through **moderation** before it can deliver. This checks that your ad meets the [advertising policy](/docs/policies/advertising-policy.md). Once approved, your campaign starts competing in the auction and delivering to matching channels.

Channel owners can also review ads for their own channels and decline ones they don't want — so an approved ad may run in some channels and not others, depending on each owner's settings.

## Review time

* Campaigns are reviewed within **1–2 days**.
* If something needs fixing, the moderator **rejects the campaign with a message** describing what to change.
* Fix the issue and resubmit — the campaign can then be approved and start delivering.

## Editing a campaign

You can edit a campaign at any time, but note how it affects delivery:

**Updating any campaign setting starts a new moderation process and removes all currently active ads** for that campaign. The campaign re-enters moderation and resumes delivery once approved.

Because of this, batch your changes: make all the edits you need, then save once, rather than tweaking a live campaign repeatedly.

## Campaign status

In your campaigns list, each campaign shows a status such as **Active** or **Paused**. Use it to see at a glance what's delivering and what isn't.

## Good practice

* Get the ad right in the preview before submitting, to avoid re-moderation loops.
* Keep claims accurate and the landing page consistent with the ad — this helps moderation and performance.
